Title: TDA starting up in Aion
Post by: Oneeyedjack on 23 August, 2009, 08:16:53 PM
We have a big group of players from our guild thats gonna start up playing in the new MMORPG called Aion. So we will ofc start up The Dark Alliance in that game. Last weekend we stopped the closed beta test and the game looks very nice, very smooth and very few bugs. The official release date in EU is the 25th of september, thats 1 month from now. Until then there will be an open beta test, where you need to pre-order the game to get in. There is also a head start for those who pre-order the game. Dates for open beta and head start is still not released as far as I know. There are a sub-forum up for those who wanna join us in Aion on this forum. You can also read much more about the game there. See you in WAR or Aion in a month, remember to swing by this forum no matter what or visit us at the TDA VT for a little chat.

I'm getting a World of Warcraft feeling when I'm looking at screenshots and videos.. how much are focused on PvE and how much are on PvP? Is it PvP zones or PvP FFA?

zones from about character lvl 20 and up, players form the opposite side will be able to enter through rifts. However greevers will be singled out by the game, by showing them for all to see on their maps. Other then that there is a huge pvp area called the Abyss, here players will pvp and the side controlling the most fortresses will also be able to partake in some dungeons and raid bosses.

In other words ... pvp can not totally be avoided, but gear can be obtained though pvp, dungeons and crafting, more or less equally. So this means players can be hardcore pvpers or and pvers.

dying in pve players loss xp and in rvr players loss rp. Rp in this game allowed you to buy gear and also gives you titles, which gives different stat boost ect.

Head start have alredy been announced, Ayase from NCsoft said that the release for Aion Eu is 25th sep, meanwhile Aion Us is 23rd sep, then US would have an 2 days pre start then EU so they changed it so EU start at the same time as US on pre start so we (EU) have 5 days headstart (20-25th sep) meanwhile US only have 20-23 sep. hope my bad english will clarify any questions about the headstart.

Oh no, I think Fenderon is planning a spiritmaster and a cleric buffbot and out looking for some icy caves to farm.  ;)

AION'S OPEN BETA, PRE-SELECT AND HEADSTART PROGRAMS
August 27, 2009 8:56 AM
Within the next four weeks, we will treat European and North American gamers to two opportunities to jump into the world of Aion and explore Atreia as Asmodian or Elyos characters ahead of its release in Europe on 25nd September and North America 22th September. Aion's Open Beta Test featuring version 1.5 will take place 6-13th September and will include numerous Western enhancements, including improvements to Aion's innovative character customization with a host of Western styles, as well as new zones, instances, skills, quests and continued game balancing and improvements. Open Beta will retain a level cap for both Elyos and Asmodians characters at 30 allowing players to focus on getting to the same level so they can explore the lands of Atreia together, as well as the Abyss.

Players who have pre-ordered Aion will be treated to a Pre-Select and a two-day Headstart period giving them the opportunity to explore, organize and progress through the game prior to the official launch. Pre-Select will take place on 18th September, while Aion's Headstart will begin 20th September. Players can still participate in the Aion's Pre-Select and Headstart programs by pre-ordering the game through several participating online and brick-and-mortar retailers.
