It seems like Mythic are aware and are doing something about the lag in open rvr, especially fortresses.
Two quotes from Mark Jacobs:

Mark Jacobs has posted a new "article" about future open RvR plans. They will implement some sort of influence system for ORvR, something similiar that PQ's has atm. Among other things ofc.
He didn't mention anything about Lag etc in keeptakes and stuff like that though.

If someone missed it, like I did

First, the Combat and Careers portion of the patch is being moved to 1.0.6.  We have made enough changes that we have decided to let them stay on PTS a while longer for additional testing.
