Something typical as in for tourists in CPH?

There's always Tivoli or Christania.

If you're one of those artsy fellas, there's Louisiana, Glyptoteket or Arken.

NSFW! The little mermaid is silly! Don't even bother. (It's faster to google it, and it's approximately the same experience)

Nyhavn is a lovely place to grab a bite or a few cold ones, it's a bit pricey though. But to be fair everything is pricey in Copenhagen.
You can also get the danish traditional food known as smørrebrød here.

There's also all the castles if you're into that kind of stuff.
Amalienborg slot
Rosenborg slot
Kronborg slot
Frederiksborg slot
And ofc. Christianborg.

There's a plethora of cool cafés and restaurants. Let me know what your price range is and i'll try to gather a list.

I've always liked Christania and the surounding area called Christianshavn.
I'd recommend Tivoli for first time tourist tbh. Hell i even go there myself sometimes.
One of my favourite cafés in the heart of Copenhagen is Bankeråt. If you for some reason dislike stuffed animals  don't go there.

But let me know what you're interested in and i might be able to give better advice. :)

Østerbro is fine. Not my favourite "bro" but you should have no problem at all getting to and from there with public transport.

Keep in mind that the 1st of may aka. May day aka. international workers' day aka. Labour day is very much celebrated in copenhagen. However International workers' day roughly translates to the danes as get absolutely pissed day. So you might as well expect a fair amount of very drunk danes. :)

I don't play many gigs these days. and if i land a job in copenhagen it's usually a wedding or something like that which would require an invitation.
Vikings weren't really known for castles. Our christian kings build those.
If you want to see viking stuff you should go to Roskilde, it's about 30 mins by train from CPH.
The Viking ship museum
Roskilde is one of the oldest danish cities, it was founded during the viking era, and served as the danish capital from sometime in the 11th century until 1443.

Or maybe Lejre.

If you decide to go to Roskilde it's also worth visiting the Cathedral.

Afaik Hanza already knows all there is to know about Germany, there's really no need to visit the most nothern part of Germany it's mostly farms and rednecks anyway. ;)

/hijack mode on

I'll be in Copenhagen at the end of August. We'll do a lil' Tourist/Sightseeing tour with the main goal to bring my daughter to Aalborg, where she'll spend a Semester abroad starting on September 1st.

I am late with planning this, RL interfered, shit happens, yadda yadda... :/

So when my daughter gets questions like "what did you see from Denmark already" - what would be a MUST HAVE?

So far my "round trip" route idea roughly is Copenhagen --> Esbjerg --> Aalborg. Thinking of around 2 weeks in total. Basic idea is to limit total driving time to around 3hrs a day, find a nice place to stay, do some Sightseeing and relax.

Any recommendations welcome, including tips for accomodation. Hint: my two fellas will NOT stay in a 8-man shared youth hostel like room or an ancient wooden cabin in the woods. I know, that this limits the choice to the more expensive Hotels/rooms and that's ok this time.
