I'm unsure if I'll like the horses in RvR.. from a SBs PoV.

of course what real impact it has remains to be seen.

We're getting an ability in 1.80. As of yet its untested and only VNBoard junkies have speculated on its likely influence.

Assassins

 - A new spell has been granted to the assassins of all three realms (Infiltrators, Nightshades and Shadowblades) upon reaching level 35 to combat horse riders of enemy realms.  The spell "Caltrops" is a rune trap which is scribed on the ground that dismounts enemy players on horseback who ride over it. Upon being forcefully dismounted, players are snared for a brief period of time. The spell has a refresh timer of 10 minutes and has a small Area effect radius. Players which are 35 or higher should be granted this spell retroactively.

Imo mounts are a great idea. Would have liked to see them remain in PVE areas only though. We can only wait and see how it works out.

I know about the thing on a 10 min timer that will tell everyone and their mother that there is a stealther in the area.. also you cant pick your target.. first come first gets thrown off horse. (as far as I understand).

I wont whine too much before I know how it actually works..

I would have assumed that the rune would be something similar in design to a poisonspike or tanglesnare. If so I would expect the "Caltrop" rune to be an aeo of some smallish radius.

We'll see how it works.

On a side note, its the 2nd quest for midgard for champ weapons that is bugged. They are hoping that they can release piccies of the new champ weapons some point this weekend. Fingers crossed :)

I've read some on vnboards.. and it's a thing you cast.. and it casts at roughly same speed as the ml1 decoy (wow thats a crap ability! btw).. and unless I remember it all wrong - casting it  unstealths you.

I really hope this isn't what they ment when they talked about having something special in mind for assassins in DR.

now just give chainsaw as championweapon..

It's been put forward as a "fix" so that assassins can perf enemies who are on horses easier so I can't see them making the cast unstealth us. I think it will be on the lines of an insta rune placed at your feet that doesnt unstealth you.

If it goes live as a 2sec cast that unstealths then its going to be utter crap and unusable in the majority of situations.

It's only been included in 1.80c so its most likely being tested by the relevant TL's. They should in turn let Mythic know if its going to be usable or not.

If Mistiri is ever to return, she demands to have U-235 on the alchemy list.
However, she also says she MIGHT settle with C4 or trinitrotoluene.

more info about patches and upgrades: extract from the grab bag:

Q: I just was wondering, is there a plan to upgrade the loot that drops from the boss mobs in DF (IE Princes, Legion) with the expansion?

A: The Content Queen says, "Yes, as we update the named monsters in Darkness Falls we will also upgrade the items they drop."

I can't remember the stats.. but still annoyed!
new DF will be interesting.. I'm sure albs will have a great time exploring it.

SB Champ weps:

+4 all melee
4% style damage
4% melee damage
10 str
10 qui
6 dex
7 str cap

The initial proc is a 25% end drain (just reduces their end, doesn't give you end). The 2nd proc is a choice between a 10% melee resist debuff (10% on item resists and up to 10% more on buff/RA resists) and a 30% end/health HoT (6 tics, 30 sec duration 5 sec frequency, 5%/tic).

There are no charges. The speed of the mainhands is 4.3, and the offhand axe is 4.0. And they are, of course, contrary to any rumors that may have been heard, slash damage only.

Blades wep for NS and Slash wep for Infil have better stats. :(

I dont understand why they have put dex into the weapon, such a waste.

disclaimer: this is a DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooom! post.

I'm not sure I'm interested in playing with all the subclassing. Of course I haven't tried it.. but I just dont like the idea or abilities it can give certain classes. Oh and stop bloody giving us all that dex - please remove the +7 dexcap from ml10 pants so they might actually have a tad higher utility than they dont have now.

I think the only way a sb can get the most out of using his champ weapon without harming themselves too much, is to build a template that doesn't included a mainhand weapon. Then we can switch weapon/dmg type to our hearts content.

When Rockey is 50 he's going to be farming like mad to make me some plats to equip trall with the best template I can possibly come up with :)

champion weapons doesnt bother me.. the mystic ones look quite nice actually.. all with a 50% power charge like tartaros have.

however.. the subclassing with parry, abs, etc etc INSTACAST(?) selfbuffs ..

no thanks.
